Ratings and Reviews for Lake Arbor Automotive &Truck
Review: Auto Repair Service
Emissions service and testingReviewed why my diesel truck had failed emissions testing at another location. Serviced and road tested the vehicle prior to testing. Suggested several routine service tips prior to future emissions testing. Tested the vehicle (it passed following their service).- Auto Repair

Lake Arbor replaced the front end ball joint and control arms on my Explorer. They gave me an estimate which was less than a chain auto body shop. The labor seemed way more affordable, but the parts prices were a bit more, but overall came to a couple hundred less than the chain's estimate. The repair was done in one day and they called me to keep me updated on ETA of completion. Really pleasant front office staff & very professional. The actual cost was actually a little less than the estimate (due to a parts price costing less than what the estimate had it priced at). The best part is I can actually feel the difference - the car drives better now. I definitely plan on going to them in the future and getting estimates from them, and as long as the quotes are comparable, I would chose them.- Auto Repair

I used Lake Arbor Automotive &Truck for diesel emission. They did a fine job and I had no complaints. It was just a pass or fail on the diesel. I would use them again.- Auto Repair

I took two vehicles to Lake Arbor Automotive recently for oil changes and winter service. They have excellent service, they are accommodating and friendly, and they are true to their estimates. I like their timeliness as far as when the car is ready. I am very impressed with them and I take my car to them every time.- Auto Repair

I took my Toyota to Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck for its maintenance and service. My last visit was in July or August of 2009 to fix the air conditioning system of the car.I got a quote from the dealership, but I felt that the quote was a little high since my Toyota was almost at 90000 miles. The price that Lake Arbor Automotive & Truck charges is less than the dealership. I would use their services in the future too.- Auto Repair
Review: Auto Repair Service
They have done general auto service for me. My son had to have valve replacements. They leaked after the replacement, so they replaced them 3 times before they got it right and did not charge him for the extra. They are very honest!unknown- Auto Repair

We took our 2004 Dodge Ram 3500 4x4 diesel truck to Lake Arbor Automotive for an oil leak on 2/8/2018. They replaced the oil-pan gasket for a price of $1,236.00. The leak was still present and there was a visible leak on the right rear of the rocker assembly. We took it back, 3/9/2018, and they charged us to replace the inner and outer crankshaft seals, timing-cover gasket, valve-cover gasket and rocker-assembly gaskets. The leak on the right rear of the rocker-assembly was still visible. In addition, they redid the oil-pan gasket because they had to pull the oil-pan to do the crankshaft seals. The additional bill was $1,768.91.The third visit, 4/3/2018, they said they put dye in the engine oil to determine whether the oil leak was indeed from the side of the rocker-assembly. We drove the Dodge some 100-miles as instructed, and took it back. They showed us where it was leaking—low and behold it was the rocker-assembly. To point out the leak, they used a standard flashlight and a pointer-stick. They did not use an ultraviolet (UV) light to reveal the dyeThey replaced the valve-cover and rocker-assembly gaskets for an additional cost of $366.39. After we analyzed the previous charges from 3/9/18, we found they had already charged us to replace these gasket sets. We took this original bill to the service-manager, and after we showed him they had double-billed us, he refunded that charge. We noticed, and asked the service manager about the black RTV engine-sealant that had been squirted under both the valve-cover and rocker-assembly. The service-manage said the technician probably wanted to make sure the rocker-assembly never leaked again. On 04/18/18 we went from Denver to Grand Junction CO on the way to Moab, UT. On the way we noticed a noise and power loss and took the Dodge to a diesel shop in Grand Junction, CO on 04/19/18. They discovered a deep chisel mark on the retaining nut for the fan-clutch assembly. Lake Arbor had used a chisel to remove the fan-clutch versus the proper wrench. They had also bent the fan-carrier-pulley during installation, which was why the serpentine belt was not tracking correctly and got cracked—it was oscillating side-to-side. The fan-clutch and the fan-carrier-pulley both had to be replaced as well as the serpentine belt. The cost of replace-and-repair on Lake Arbor’s work after 486 miles was approximately $938.00. Lake Arbor did reimburse for this. While in Grand Junction, we had the new technician check the engine oil for dye. No indication that dye was put in the engine. We also have since asked other mechanic technicians about the black RTV engine-sealant Lake Arbor had used under the valve-cover and rocker-assembly, and they said that if we have new gaskets, they do not need black RTV, because black RTV degrades and gets loose in chunks, or squirts where it shouldn’t go during installation. Either way, it can plug oil passages. We have no way of knowing if the upper-gasket sets were replaced or squirting black RTV underneath them, then re-tightening them.We won’t go back... Read More
